Symbiotic Meditations

(2-Lamp Set)

Leah Edwards

Leah N. Edwards was born and raised in the Upstate area of SC. Her parents first discovered her talent when she was at an elementary age, and she drew the details of the bottom of her shoe but slightly larger. Realizing she didn’t trace it, they enrolled her in Art Instruction Schools’ program in Minneapolis, Minnesota via U.S. Mail. That program was a vital source of education, turning natural talent into structured design.

Itching to spread her wings, she went to college at The International Academy of Design and Technology in Tampa, FL and graduated with an Associates of Science Degree in Graphic Design. Since then, Leah designs freelance, paints acrylic paintings and creates lamps by commission and inspiration. In 2008, she was the featured artist in Greer Now Magazine's August Edition and also The Greer Herald on September 30th, 2008.. She has participated in Greer Station Oktoberfest in 2007 and 2008.

Feeling the need to expand and experience the diverse art culture in a larger city, she moved to the Charlotte, NC area in January 2009. Besides being an artist, Leah also co-owns an artist support supplier, Canvas NC, and was featured in The Starving Artist Magazine May/June issue in Wilmington, NC.

“I want people to be drawn in by my paintings, calling them to enjoy the colors, design, composition, and thought process behind what makes up a finished masterpiece,” Leah says. “When people take a piece home with them, I want them to feel the emotion I felt when I painted that piece. Paintings are alive...they have an energy about them that makes a house feel like a home. I encourage you to find that piece you connect with.”
