Kate Vasseur: Studio K Art

Kate Vasseur grew up in Florida with parents who spent many Saturdays looking for treasures in local flea markets and encouraged an artistic flair in their kids with daily art projects. After completing her degree at Elon University in Elon, N.C., Kate moved out west to California to soak up experiences of life as a full-time artist. Kate has returned to N.C and resides in Charlotte where she has been working on her craft ever since.

"My goal is to create art that is unique, functional and a purely aesthetic complement to life," Vasseur said. Whether using found objects to create jewlery, painting colorful murals to adorn children's rooms or bringing her own unique perception to paintings of everyday objects, Vasseur brings a new perspective to many of the aspects of daily life.

"My paintings are a blend of fantasy with an element of nostalgia. Images of a bygone era color my canvas as much as my brush strokes do."
